Day 1: let the fun begin!
We depart Auckland International Airport early afternoon on our Singapore Airlines flight, arriving in Singapore in the evening, where we transfer to our hotel for the night.
The ‘Paradox Merchant Court’ is on the banks of the picturesque Singapore River – an easy walk from Clarke Quay, Festival Village, Boat Quay and Chinatown … and a short taxi-ride from the famous Raffles Hotel, the National Orchid Gardens, Orchard Road with shop-shop-shops, and countless other attractions that this glittering Asian showcase-city offers visitors.
Day 2: on our own in Singapore
After waking and downing a yummy breakfast, you have the rest of the day at leisure. Options? You might choose to ‘buddy-up’ with others in our group and ride a sampan down the Singapore River … or visit Haw Par Villa … or grab some up-high views aboard the Singapore Flyer (a giant ferris-wheel).
If you’re into flowers, try Singapore’s newest No.1 attraction: the ultra-modern Gardens by the Bay. And if it’s wildlife you’re after, Singapore’s gorgeous Jurong Birdpark (more than 7000 flamingos, pelicans, hornbills, toucans, parrots, etc) will knock your socks off!
Later in the day, we have time to freshen-up at the hotel before the next leg in this exciting journey: our late-night flight (yawn) to London: capital city of 8.8 million and beloved by the world …
